Appointments

Appointments are 50-minutes and usually weekly. Our first session will be a chance to talk about what is bringing you to therapy and to discuss how we can work together. I will explain my approach and together we will think about what you would like out of our sessions. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions that are on your mind about therapy and counselling.

Please contact me with your availability to arrange an initial appointment by email at sam@headspace-therapy.com. During particularly busy times it can take up to 48 hours for me to respond.

Appointments will usually be at my consulting rooms, however, I also work online via Zoom or Skype, which can be helpful for those living elsewhere and depending on your individual circumstances. At present, I am in the process of relocating my practice and therefore consultations are currently only available on an online basis. 

Extended appointments, with pro-rated fees, are available. The fee covers the additional time I spend on therapy-related activities, such as additional consultation, reading and research, and record-keeping. 

Cancellation

I require a minimum of 3 working days’ notice for appointment cancellations so I have time to offer the appointment. Cancellations at shorter notice are usually charged at full price. I will still offer the space if you cancel at shorter notice and if it is taken, I will not charge for the missed appointment.

If you cancel with a minimum of 3 days’ notice, you will not be charged irrespective of whether I am able to give it to another client or not.

Moving or Changing an Appointment

If one of us need to move an appointment, this is usually possible but is made easier with notice. There may be a difference in price if you are moving from a daytime to an evening appointment or vice versa. If the appointment is moved to accommodate me, any increase in price will not apply.

Payment

I accept payment in cash or via bank transfer. Our first session can be paid in cash for in-person appointments or in advance by bank transfer for online appointments. Following our initial session, if we agree to work together, I offer the option to invoice on a monthly basis unless you prefer otherwise. 

My Holidays

Please note I normally take the following holidays during the year, and any exceptions to this will be discussed with you:

  • 2 weeks at Easter
  • The month of August
  • 2 weeks at Christmas / New Year break
